When people think of God’s law they usually think of the ten commandments. The general sentiment towards the law is that God doesn’t want us to have any fun. But when you really examine these commandments, each of them actually brings a lot of benefits for us to follow them. More importantly than any of that, we should seek to follow them because the same God who rescued His people out of Egypt and gave them these commandments, is the God who reconciled us through the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ. We should strive to keep the commandments because they give us the opportunity to acknowledge the love He has poured out upon us and to reflect that love back to Him. By doing this we grow closer to Him and to each other, and in turn, begin to usher in His Kingdom.

What is the commandment that you seem to struggle the most to follow?

What would it mean for you to shift your mindset from thinking of the commandments as something you have to follow to thinking of them as something that ushers in the Kingdom of God?
