Psalm 45

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2045&version=NLT

This is a Psalm about a royal wedding. While many scholars believe that this text is describing an ancient Israelite King’s wedding, it is also agreed that the Psalmist is looking forward to the great wedding feast of the Lamb with the king being Jesus. In this context, we as the Church are the bride who has adorned herself for her husband. David writes that God’s throne will endure forever and that He rules with justice to all the Earth. He rules the Earth and joy flows throughout His kingdom. What a glorious day it will be when Christ returns! His children can return home and dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

What image most stands out about this description of God’s kingly nature? Why?

Verse 11 says: “Honor Him, for He is your Lord.” In what ways have you been honoring God in the past weeks?

In what ways have you dishonored Him?
